I am really proud of myself, and I wanted to share my latest project with you. My friend Debbie had her baby girl last Saturday, and since this is her first girl after two boys, I wanted to give her something pink and girly. I made her a flannel blanket with flowers on one side and a pretty coral type color on the other. The first picture I folded the blanket in half so you could see the back side. On the front I embroidered a letter J since her name is Julianna. The reason I am so proud is because this is the first sewing project I've made without having to rip out any stitches and start over. Now I want to make one for Avery. I'm really getting into sewing now that I've made a few hundred mistakes and learned from them. I was starting to get discouraged and thought maybe sewing was one more talent I could add to my list of things I can't do. I know that sounds negative, but I went through a time period recently of having a pity party and feeling like I didn't have talents except baking. Even that made me sad because I thought "great, the one thing I can do well makes me fat!!" So I did the one thing I knew to do, and that was pray. I didn't ask God to give me specific talents, I just wanted to be content with the ones I already had and be thankful for what He has already given me. I tell ya, these pregnancy hormones really take you for a ride. It's a good thing I serve a patient God who helps you through the ups and downs!

I'm So Proud

The Countdown Has Begun
We are loving fall!!
Yesterday Grace and I went to a small pumpkin farm here in town. It was so cute! It's a family farm and they have a little pumpkin patch attached to it. There were a few small animals to look at and a little maze made out of hay with big white tubes attached to use as slides. Grace really liked playing on the hay.
This is the pumpkin she picked out. We are going to carve it tomorrow night. Doesn't she look cute in her candy corn pants and pumpkin shirt? She got the outfit from Aunt Christine for her birthday. She insisted that she wear them to the pumpkin patch!!
Of course we had to stop and pet the kitty. Grace was in heaven. The cat was very friendly so she sat on the wagon for quite a while with the cat. Without fail it brought up the conversation about when we own our own home again she can have a kitty. She is counting down the days!! Too bad it won't be until 2010, but she doesn't understand that part.
We made mummy dogs the other day for lunch. I used Pillsbury bread sticks and cut them into strips. Then we wrapped them around the hot dogs. After they were done we used mustard to make their faces. Grace really liked making and eating them!
This is our lame alternative for making smore's. Grace didn't know what they were and Scottie thought they sounded good. So I got all the stuff to make them. But since we don't have access to a bonfire, we used our gas stove. They actually tasted pretty good. I didn't know Scottie was taking a picture. What a lovely site!! But overall we have really enjoyed fall this year. I can't wait until next year when I can enjoy it without having to stop every five minutes to catch my breath!

I Don't Know....
I don't know why I haven't posted anything for almost a month. Or why it takes me all day to fold a load of laundry and clean the dinner dishes from the night before. I can't really say why I sit on the couch and stare into space while Gracie asks me for the fourth time for something to drink. If I had to take a guess I would have to say - pregnancy! I just feel very unmotivated right now, plus I'm really really tired and uncomfortable. I don't want to complain, because this is something I have been praying for the past two years. But it is reality, and I'm afraid my blog is suffering the consequences. I will try and do better. I did post something birthday party pictures, but I'm too tired to think of stuff to write. Sorry! So please bear with me for the next six weeks and hopefully I will get back into the swing of things after a while. Thanks!! :)
***By the way, if you come over to my house I doubt I will be very hospitable and offer you something to eat or drink. I'll probably ask you to clean my bathtub, I'm having a hard time bending over to do stuff. Anyone want to come over? Anyone? Anyone?
